how many of you did learn KANNADA after coming to bangalore?

I did, atleast a bit. It's a great language, and it's a pity to see so many outsiders living over 25 years of their lives without learning any Kannada. I guess the locals are a little too accomodating and flexible.

I haven't been to Bangalore (or anywhere in India -- yet), but I worked with someone from Bangalore and he was teaching me Hindi and Kannada. Still trying to learn Hindi and will return to Kannada (still have all my notes).

i am sorry i am not outsider but still wanna answer this question.......i live in mysore from past 13yrs kannada is very simple lang to learn it is very different from other lang's

i learned to read it in abt 5months...yet its tuf to comprehend what the locals say in their dialect...but when you cant learn the language they speak, you make them speak the language u speak...see, how many kannadigas speak malayalam and hindi.
